The Art of Lucid Dreaming
The question that accompanied this project is: How can I visualise the process of lucid dreaming on a metaphorical level? My approach relates to the aspect of control and how this shapes the crucial difference between a regular dream and a lucid dream. The loss of control in the attempt to initiate a lucid dream is represented here by the mixture between milk and tea. By cutting the resulting frames, control over the process is regained. It shows that as uncontrollable as the process of lucid dreaming is (milk in tea representations), control (cutting out the frames and reassigning them) can be regained with time and practice. This reflection resulted in a illustrated book, as well as leporellos and postcards.
